Founded and grew an independent gaming media company to 500,000+ followers as a side venture — mentoring Twitch streamers to Partner status, pioneering an interactive livestream format years ahead of its time, and giving away over one million game keys in partnership with major studios.
I founded Feed Me Pixels in 2012 as a side venture alongside my full-time role as CTO of Modern Creations, right as livestreaming and YouTube were beginning to reshape how gaming audiences discovered content and creators. Rather than chasing scale for its own sake, I focused on smaller Twitch streamers and YouTubers who had real talent but no infrastructure, no brand relationships, and no reliable way to grow.
By the time I wound the venture down in 2018, it had reached an international audience of 500,000+ followers — built entirely on nights and weekends around a full-time job.
The Challenge
Livestreaming and YouTube were just beginning to reshape how gaming audiences discovered content and creators, but smaller streamers had talent with no infrastructure, no brand relationships, and no reliable path to growth. At the same time, game studios were looking for new, more authentic and interactive ways to reach an increasingly ad-resistant gaming audience.
The Approach
I built Feed Me Pixels around two audiences at once: streamers who needed mentorship and support to grow, and studios who needed authentic, high-engagement placements. Rather than competing for the biggest names, I focused on smaller creators with real growth potential, and on content formats — interactive, unpredictable, community-driven — that a bigger, more corporate operation wouldn't touch.
The Solution
Mentored a roster of smaller Twitch streamers and YouTubers on growth, content, and brand relationships — several went on to earn Twitch Partner status and still work in the games industry today. Pioneered the first-ever Twitch livestream featuring a Nerf launcher controlled live by viewer chat commands, setting a new bar for interactive audience participation. Ran large-scale giveaway campaigns distributing over one million game keys, partnering directly with studios including Behaviour Interactive (Dead by Daylight) and Green Man Gaming to drive visibility for their titles while growing the Feed Me Pixels audience.
The Results
Grew Feed Me Pixels to an international audience of 500,000+ followers, run as a side venture alongside a full-time CTO role. Multiple mentored streamers reached Twitch Partner status, with several still working professionally in the games industry today. Distributed over one million free game keys and built lasting partnerships with major studios including Behaviour Interactive and Green Man Gaming. The chat-controlled Nerf launcher stream remains one of the earliest examples of true viewer-driven interactive content on the platform.
